ATTICOMATIC WAIT

Brighton’s genre-defying five piece AtticOmatic navigate the complexities of neurodivergent love on their new single ‘Wait’. The new single, taken from the band’s forthcoming debut EP Fold The World reflects their stylistic ambiguity, centring around an indie rock sound with swells of shimmering, jagged guitar, though fluidly incorporating dreamy harmonies and jazz oriented undertones. Vocalists Lorcan Forder and Kamran Kaur take turns on the verses, attuned to the vulnerability of the track which chronicles their own experience of Forder being diagnosed with ADHD and Kaur being diagnosed with Autism five years into their relationship. Speaking on the track, Forder has explained: “The lyrics are about how overwhelming love sometimes feels, navigating what it is like to be in a neurodivergent relationship and understanding how similar, yet totally different two people can be.” ‘Wait’ is not only sonically captivating, but it offers a heartfelt exploration of personal themes. Their transparency and diverse influences merge to bring about a standout first single, while still leaving room to look forward to what’s to come of Fold The World. -Kayla Sandiford
